Weekend Sherpa Website Project
We were very excited when Weekend Sherpa hit us up to do a massive site and technology overhaul of their website. Besides being a great company there were some great solutions we had to hurdle to launch.
Outdoor Connectivity
The website was built so it would size on any smart phone. This is very important as we see more and more people browsing and planning their lives from mobile devices.
Forms Aplenty
We created a feature called My Weekend Sherpa, which allows users to add their favorite stories or issues to their My Weekend Sherpa list and save it for a later date.
Good Global Navigation
Weekend Sherpa content is broken down by Region, then Issues and then Stories. It was very important to make this evident and allow users to share all these wonderful issues and stories with friends and family.
The Homepage
The homepage gives users a very direct call to action and engages them right away with the next step of choosing their region.
An Issue + Story
Here's an example of the way social media buttons are seamlessly integrated into the site's content.
Content Searching
The bottom of the site organizes additional content very well and gives the user a choice to search by various criteria so they can pleasantly browse loads of content without feeling overwhelmed.

Weekend Sherpa
Weekend Sherpa is a free, weekly newsletter service that gives people recommendation on weekend outdoor pursuits in California. Brad Day, founder of Weekend Sherpa wanted Butchershop Creative to create a new website with many added features that would allow the company to expand into other markets.
Weekend Sherpa was founded in 2006, providing a simple service of recommending weekend adventures to people in Northern California. The old site was very dated.
